HKLUG會於七月三十日(星期六)下午二時三十分於香港中文大學利黃瑤璧樓206室舉行七月份LinuxTalk，主題為Linux的防火牆應用，主要內容以講解netfilter/iptables的功能和如何運用Linux建立防火牆及其有關用途。是次講題會以中小學校環境之應用作例子，解釋Linux下的防火牆之各方面功能如何運作。

是次LinuxTalk的講者為劉進然先生，劉進然先生在2003年於中文大學訊息工程學系取得工學士，隨後於香港學校網絡工作至2005年六月。期間，他曾參與「Reading Family」、「English Discovery Online」及「NetPlan」等項目之發展。在專為學校環境而設之NetPlan項目中，他開發了NetProtect防火牆之使用者介面並參與其安裝及有關之Linux基建支援工作。他亦管理著香港學校網絡內部使用之Debian Repository及封裝公司內部有關項目專屬的Debian Packages。

本LinuxTalk會以廣東話舉行。下為舉行地點之地圖，各位參加者可依圖紅線所示，到大學火車站沿左邊行車通道往上山方向步行二至三分鐘即達，屆時本會亦會有相應指示。請各有興趣的參加者先作電郵登記，以供本會預計人數。

HKLUG will hold the July LinuxTalk at July 30 (Saturday) 2:30pm, in Rm 206, Esther Lee Building of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The theme of this LinuxTalk is about the firewall application in Linux environment. This is to explain the function of netfilter/iptables and telling how to build a firewall and/or related functions by using Linux. This LinuxTalk will use primary/secondary schools as examples to show how we can make use of Linux for certain security functions.

The presenter of this LinuxTalk will be Mr. Sky C.-Y. Lau. Sky obtained the degree of Bachelor of Engineering from Department of Information Engineering, CUHK at 2003. He worked as System Engineer in Hong Kong School Net from July 2003 to June 2005. When he was with Hong Kong School Net, he involved in the development of "Reading Family", "English Discovery Online", as well as the "NetPlan" project. In the NetPlan project he developed the NetProtect Firewall's User Interface and helped on-site installation and support of various Linux system infrastructures. He also maintains the HKSN Debian Respository and built custom Debian packages to meet the needs of emerging solutions.

This LinuxTalk is presented in Cantonese. The following is the map for the venue. Participants is suggested to follow the red arrows, from the KCR University Station walk to the venue. By walking up-hill along the road at left, you should arrive Esther Lee Building within 2-3 minutes.
