[轉載] 巴西普及電腦計劃使用開源軟件

巴西政府推行普及電腦計劃，當中「Computers for All」計劃為向市民提供低息分期的廉價電腦，電腦公司大約每月向巴西售出一萬部，現時已售出約五萬部，據較早前資料顯示售價不超過 US$440。此採用了 Linux XP 作業系統，內建 OpenOffice.org、Firefox 及 GAIM 等常用軟件。由於 Linux XP 與 RedHat 廉容，使用者還可以自行安裝任何適用於 RedHat 的軟件。售出電腦後，電腦公司還會提供電話及網上支術支援。

由於開源軟件免費的特性，在不少地方的普及電腦計劃上都大派用場，一方面幫助了低收入人士接觸電腦，另一方面亦幫助了開源軟件的普及。
