Introduction

The Power of Linux Presentation

In June 1998, China LUG told us that James Gary, the President of S.u.S.E. (A Major Distributor of Linux) U.S. Office plan to have a visit to China and will stay in Hong Kong for a few days. After some discussion with the members of HKLUG, we decide to hold a Presentation about Linux and invite James to have a talk on it in order to promote Linux in Hong Kong.

With the big support of Software Inductrial Information Centre (SIIC) and the help of many HKLUG members, The Power of Linux Presentation was held in Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) Lecture Theatre on 25th July 1998 (Saturday) 2:00pm. Nearly hundred of people attend the Presentation and it is believed to be the first Big Linux related activity in Hong Kong.
