The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on Friday added two critical-severity vulnerabilities to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog, citing reports of active exploitation in the wild — one hitting Collabora Online's Built-in CODE Server, the other Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator (VCO).
The lead entry, CVE-2026-110447, carries a CVSS score of 9.2 and affects the Collabora Online Built-in CODE Server (CODE), the self-hosted document-collaboration stack built on LibreOffice technology. The available advisory text describes the flaw only partially — the description truncates mid-sentence at "An operating…," leaving the vulnerability class unconfirmed. Administrators should treat that characterization as incomplete and read the full KEV entry before scoping remediation.
The second listed flaw affects Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator, the control plane for Arista's SD-WAN estate. Its CVE identifier and CVSS score were absent from the material available at time of writing; both should be verified against the KEV catalog and Arista's own advisories.
Why the KEV listing matters more than the CVSS score
Catalog inclusion is the operative signal. Under Binding Operational Directive 22-01, federal civilian agencies must remediate cataloged vulnerabilities by a stated due date — typically days to a few weeks after listing. For everyone else, the catalog functions as a de facto triage queue: an entry means exploitation is not theoretical, and "patch now" moves ahead of "queue for the next maintenance window."
Patch availability was not confirmed in the source material, so operators should not assume fixes are already published — check Collabora and Arista advisories directly, and apply any available updates or mitigations without delay. Whether CISA or HKCERT has issued a corresponding local advisory was likewise not reflected in the source coverage; check HKCERT's vulnerability pages for a local notice rather than assuming one exists.
Two very different attack surfaces
The pairing is instructive because the products sit at opposite ends of the deployment spectrum. Collabora CODE is a self-hosted, open-source document server — the kind of stack favoured by organisations prioritising data sovereignty. That control comes with a cost: when a self-hosted service lands in the KEV, inventorying, patching, and verifying fall entirely on the operator. A SaaS equivalent arrives already patched by someone else; a self-hosted flaw does not.
Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator, by contrast, is an SD-WAN orchestration layer. Compromising an orchestrator is a force-multiplier: it pushes configuration across an entire distributed network from a single point of control, making a flaw there a network-wide event rather than a host-level one.
Same-day remediation checklist
- Inventory assets — confirm whether you run a self-hosted Collabora Online / CODE Server or an Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator deployment.
- Check official advisories — review the Collabora and Arista security bulletins for patched versions and their availability; if no fix exists yet, record the vendor's recommended mitigations.
- Verify the full KEV entries — pull the complete descriptions, CVSS scores, and BOD 22-01 due dates for both CVEs directly from the CISA KEV catalog.
- Apply patches promptly — schedule the update in your next maintenance window; before patching, assess whether management interfaces can be isolated or source IPs restricted in the interim.
- Check HKCERT bulletins — review the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team's vulnerability disclosures for any corresponding local advisory.
- Keep records — log the asset inventory, patch times, and verification results for future audit and review.
Both entries are immediate-action items, not routine patch-queue candidates: CISA's assessment is that exploitation is already underway.
